At a MEETING of the TEACHERS' GRIEVANCE SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 15th March, 2001.

The Committee resolved that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the following items in order to avoid any disclosure of information which was exempt in terms of Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(a) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.
I EDUCATION DEPARTMENT - GRIEVANCE APPEAL
It was reported that a grievance appeal had been submitted by three employees of the Education Department concerning the application of the scheme of conditions of service for teachers.
The Sub-Committee heard the appellants' representative and thereafter the Council's representative and witness. After questions had been put and answers given by both parties to each other and the witness and by members of the Sub-Committee and its advisors, the parties withdrew from the meeting.
Thereafter following careful consideration of all the information, the Sub-Committee agreed that the grounds of the appeal had been substantiated and the appeal be upheld.
II EDUCATION DEPARTMENT - GRIEVANCE APPEAL
It was reported that a grievance appeal had been submitted by an employee of the Education Department concerning the application of the scheme of conditions of service for teachers.
The Sub-Committee agreed to adjourn for further information.
