I MINUTE OF MEETING OF REGISTRATION AND CASES SUB-COMMITTEE OF 3RD SEPTEMBER 2001
The minute of the above meeting was submitted and noted.
II THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS OFFICER'S ANNUAL REPORT 2000/1
There was submitted Report No 614-2001 by the Director of Social Work informing members of the changes in the role and responsibilities of the Children's Rights Officer as a result of a Best Value Review carried out in 1998 and advising of the work of the Children's Rights Officer during the year 2000/2001.
The Committee agreed to -
(i) note the contents of the report; and
(ii)remit the Director of Social Work to continue to report on the role of the Children's Rights Officer on a regular basis.
III SOCIAL WORK COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
There was submitted Report No 615-2001 by the Director of Social Work advising members of the operation and effectiveness of the statutory Social Work Department Complaints Procedure from 1st April 2000 to 31st March 2001.
The Committee agreed to -
(i)note and approve the contents of the report;
(ii)remit the Director of Social Work to inform the Scottish Executive Social Work Services Group of the content; and
(iii)remit the Director of Social Work to make the contents of this report publicly available.
IV ASSOCIATION OF DIRECTORS OF SOCIAL WORK, CRIMINAL JUSTICES - AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
It was reported that the abovementioned conference would be held from Wednesday, 31st October to Friday, 2nd November 2001 at Hilton, Dunblane Hydro.
The Committee authorised the attendance of one member from each of the Majority, the Major Opposition and the Minority Opposition Groups.
V CONFERENCE - "YOUTH CRIME IN SCOTLAND"
It was reported that the abovementioned conference would be held in Edinburgh on 9th October 2001.
The Committee authorised the attendance of the Convener or her nominee.
