I CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 SECTION 87(1) BUILDINGS IN NEED OF REPAIR

 

The Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection reported that notices had been served on the owners of the undernoted property requiring works to be carried out.

The Committee authorised the Director to carry out the work should the owners not comply within the time allowed in the Notices.

 

II CONTAMINATED LAND STRATEGY

 

There was submitted Report No 447-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection advising the Committee of the contents of Dundee City Council's Contaminated Land Strategy and seeking approval for its submission to the Scottish Executive.

 

The Committee noted and approved the Strategy as detailed in the report and agreed that it be submitted to the Scottish Executive.

It was further agreed that an appropriate share of the additional financial resources made available form the Scottish Executive be included in the Environmental and Consumer Protection Department's Revenue and Capital Budgets in the relevant years to assist in the implementation of the Contaminated Land Strategy.

 

III MARCHBANKS DEPOT WASHBAY WORKS

 

There was submitted Joint Report No 552-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection and the City Architectural Services Officer seeking authorisation for the extension of the existing Partnering Agreement for the Service Washbay works required at Marchbanks Cleansing Depot.

 

The Committee approved the extension of the existing Partnering Agreement with the Robertson Group as the partnering contractor for the Service Washbay works at a guaranteed maximum price not exceeding 121,000 plus allowances amounting to 19,000.

 

IV PURCHASE OF STATIC AIR QUALITY STATION

 

There was submitted Report No 561-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection seeking approval for the purchase of a Static Air Quality Station and detailing offers received.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from EMC Environment Engineering Limited of Cheltenham in the sum of 48,738.

 

V REVIEW OF QUALIFICATION FOR ASSISTED WHEELED BIN COLLECTION

 

There was submitted Report No 622-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection seeking approval for the introduction of formal parameters for approving applications for Assisted Collections.

 

The Committee approved the terms of the report and agreed that all applications for Assisted Collections of wheeled bins be evaluated by the criteria detailed in the report.
