In the case of Application No 5 by Bett Inns Limited in respect of premises at 314/316 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry, the Board was advised that the application was outwith the policy of the Licensing Board.
After considering a letter circulated in support of the application, the Councillor Beattie moved that the Board deal with the application in accordance with present policy and refuse the application.
As an amendment, Councillor Rolfe moved that the application be granted for a trial period of twelve months with an extension to 1 am.
On a division, there voted for the motion - the Convener, Lord Provost Letford and Councillors Wright, Ward, Bowes, Beattie and Fordyce (8); and for the amendment - Councillor Rolfe (1) - whereupon the motion was declared carried.
In the Case of Application No 34 by Lodge Camperdown No 317 in respect of premises at 1A Wellington Street, Lord Provost Letford declared an interest and took no part in the discussion of the foregoing item.
There being no objections to the remaining applications, the Board granted licences.
