I SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT
(a) ESTABLISHMENT OF FIXED TERM POST
Reference was made to the minute of meeting of the Social Work Committee of 18th December, 2000 which approved a report on the Youth Justice Strategy Dundee 2000/01 - A Strategy for the Prevention of Youth Crime and it was remitted to this Committee to establish a post of Youth Justice Co-ordinator.
Accordingly, the Committee approved the establishment of the post of Youth Justice Co-ordinator graded PO7-10 (27,687 - 29,823) for a three year fixed term period from 1st April, 2001 to 31st March, 2004, it being noted the costs associated with the establishment of the post would be met by grant funding already available to the local authority from the Scottish Executive under the Youth Crime Review Initiative.
(b) CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES - REGRADING OF POSTS
It was reported that at the request of the Director of Social Work, the Director of Personnel and Management Services had reviewed the duties and responsibilities of the post of Community Service Supervisor in the Criminal Justice Services Section, and recommended that:-
(a) 6 posts of Community Service Supervisor graded AP1 (13,164 - 14,118) be regraded to AP2 (14,484 - 15,717); and
(b) the job description be updated to reflect the revised duties and responsibilities of the post.
The Committee approved accordingly, it being noted that the cost of implementing the above recommendations would be 5,600 in a full financial year (640 in 2000/2001), which sum would be funded from the Criminal Justice budget which was 100% funded y the Scottish Executive.
II LEISURE AND PARKS DEPARTMENT - SESSIONAL SPORTS COACHES - RATES OF PAY
There was submitted Report No. 137-2001 by the Director of Personnel and Management Services relative to the above.
The Committee approved the terms of the report and the revised rates of pay as outlined in the appendix attached thereto.
III POLICIES ON STRESS IN THE WORKPLACE AND ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
There was submitted Report No. 86-2001 by the Director of Personnel and Management Services relative to the above.
The Committee approved the recommendation in the report that the Council adopt the proposed policies on Stress in the Workplace and Alcohol and Drugs as attached at Appendices 1 and 2 to the report and remitted to the Director of Personnel and Management Services to introduce and implement these policies subject to consultation with the Trade Unions.
