I SCOTTISH EXECUTIVE GREEN PAPER "A POWER OF COMMUNITY INITIATIVE, COMMUNITY PLANNING, POLITICAL RESTRICTIONS ON COUNCIL EMPLOYEES"

There was submitted Report No 77-2001 by the Director of Corporate Planning advising the Committee of the proposals contained in the Scottish Executive's Green Paper on "A Power of Community Initiative, Community Planning, Political Restrictions on Council Employees" and preparing a response to a number of questions on which the Scottish Executive had invited comments.

The Committee agreed that the comments detailed in Appendix I of the report be submitted to the Scottish Executive as this Council's response to the Green Paper.

II OUR NATIONAL HEALTH - A PLAN FOR ACTION, A PLAN FOR CHANGE

There was submitted Report No 83-2001 by the Director of Corporate Planning advising the Committee of the proposals contained in the Scottish Executive's latest plan on the future of the National Health Service in Scotland called "Our National Health - A Plan for Action, A Plan for Change".

The Committee approved the comments detailed in Appendix I of the report and agreed that it be forwarded to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities as this Council's response on the implications of the plan for local government.
