I ARTS AND HERITAGE ACTION PLAN 2001/2002

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No. 53-2001 outlining the department's key aims and objectives and the associated Action Plan for 2001/2002.

 

The Committee agreed the core departmental aims and objectives outlined in section 6.1 of the Report and further agreed the Arts and Heritage Action Plan for 2001/2002 as detailed in Appendix 1 to the Report.

 

II THE ROYAL SCOTTISH SOCIETY OF PAINTERS IN WATERCOLOUR

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No. 80-2001 informing the Committee of the success of the Arts and Heritage Department in securing the above exhibition to be held in the McManus Galleries from 2nd February to 16th March, 2002.

 

The Committee noted the Report and the fact that this would be the first time the Society had ever held its annual exhibition outwith Edinburgh or Glasgow and would be the first time the Society had shown in Dundee.

 

III TENDERS RECEIVED

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No. 91-2001 giving details of offers received for the undernoted contracts:-

 

(a) McMANUS GALLERIES - GALLERY LIGHTING

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Senate Electrical to carry out the above works for the sum of 1,956.50.

 

(b) McMANUS GALLERIES - LIFT IMPROVEMENTS

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Thyssen to carry out the above works for the sum of 4,274.03.

 

(c) BROUGHTY CASTLE - SIGNAGE

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Colin Keillor Graphics to carry out the above works for the sum of 1,495.00.

 

(d) CAIRD HALL - FIRE ALARM PAGER SYSTEM

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Gent Services to carry out the above works for the sum of 1,059.00.

 

(e) CAIRD HALL - REPLACEMENT SHOWER

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Dundee Contract Services to carry out the above works for the sum of 928.00.
