RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1 and 2

RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1 and 2 Image
Our RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Stage 1 course is the introductory stage to the basics of launching, sailing and recovering a boat. By the end of this introductory course, you will have a basic understanding of how a boat sails, and some experience of steering and handling the boat. When our young sailors get signed off in the Stage 1 syllabus, they will then move on to Stage 2, where they will achieve a range of sailing skills and background knowledge, and be well on the way to being a confident small boat sailor. Secondary-school children may be able to use their sailing qualifications in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme. In all cases everyone should at least achieve the Stage 1 certificate in this 2 day course.

Course Additional Info:
Included in your course cost is the use of our wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and spray tops. If you require to use Ancrum equipment, it is advised that you visit the Centre Stores department prior to your course start date to get correctly sized for wet gear.
