The Chief Executive is the Council's head of paid service. He is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Council and its resources, including over 6000 full time equivalent (FTE) staff and a budget of around £500 million.
The Chief Executive also:
- provides strategic leadership for the Council
- supports the Council’s management team and elected members in the development and delivery of the Council’s aims and policy objectives and in achieving better outcomes for the city
- ensures the Council has strong links with partners and the wider Dundee community and with national agencies
The Head of Chief Executive’s Services supports the Chief Executive in these roles as well as being responsible for the delivery of a range of services.
