If you are affected by Welfare Reform one option that you may wish to consider is whether you should move into work. You may also want to discuss support with filling in application forms, making claims, or using computers to apply for jobs or apply for benefits.

The Discover Opportunities Centre in Crichton Street has been set up to support people overcome barriers to moving into work and includes teams that will assist with issues relating to Health, Debt and Money Advice, Welfare Rights, Child Care, Criminal Convictions and there is a specialist team that will support young people.

There are locally based Jobshops and Community facilities that you can access if you are looking for support around getting a job or Welfare Reform. To find out where and when Job Shops run and where you can access IT facilities and other support networks download the PDF.

Dundee City Council, working closely with a range of partners including Jobcentre Plus, NHS Tayside, Skills Development Scotland, the Voluntary Sector and Dundee and Angus College have established an Employability Pipeline. Around 40 organisations deliver services through the Employability Pipeline, many other organisations are connected to the Employability Pipeline and deliver services that support people overcome barriers to work and move into work.
