Electric Vehicle Parking Within Dundee

Parking within Car Parks with controlled barriers

Access to Council managed car parks will be free of charge to pure Electric Vehicle owners.  To take advantage of this offer, you will need to register details of your electric vehicle with the Fleet Team (fleet@dundeecity.gov.uk). The vehicle’s registration number will then be input to the ANPR system, and this will enable the access barrier to rise on arrival/departure without the requirement for tickets.

The following conditions apply:

  • EVs will be given free parking in all regular parking bays.  There is no requirement to recharge your vehicle to use the car park.
  • If using fast charging bays, you will have a maximum stay in the bay of 3 hours and no return to the bay within 4 hours.
  • If using rapid charging bays will have a maximum stay of 30 mins in the bay and no return to the bay within 4 hours.
  • When parked in charging bays the vehicle must be plugged in at all times.  Charging bays should only be used when recharging is required.

Please note, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) are not eligible for free parking.
