closed westbound for one week with full closures for short durations (up to 48 hours) for major refurbishment works to D C Thomson building.

Constable Street (westbound St Roques Lane to Dens Street) and St Roques Lane

closed for 7 months for facilitating development works.

Ann Street (Hillbank Road for 205m west)

closed for 9 weeks for drainage and utility services to new housing development.

SSE Glenagnes Cable Renewal

Lochee Road lane restrictions and closures on Blinshall Street, Fleuchar Street and Scott Street for 5 months

Happyhillock Road

closed in 2 phases for 3 weeks for carriageway resurfacing and traffic island construction.

Strathmore Street, Broughty Ferry

temporary traffic lights for up to one week for footway works.

Finavon Street (Fintry Road to Fintry Drive) and Fintry Road (Fintry Drive for 35m south)

Finavon Street will be closed in several sections, one section at a time, for 29 weeks for facilitating works for a new housing development.

Dunsinane Avenue (junction with Kings Cross Road)

closed on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 March (off-peak) for carriageway repair works.

closed from Monday 27 March for 5 working days for SSE cabling works.

Claverhouse Road (Balgowan Avenue to Barns of Claverhouse Road)

closed eastbound from Monday 27 March for 3 weeks for drainage works.

Strathmartine Road (Hill Street to Mains Road), Hill Street (eastbound from Hill Square to Strathmartine Road), Hilltown (prohibition of left turn at junction with Kinghorne Road), 2 Alexander Street to North George Street and 3 Rosebank Street to Constitution Street, Stirling Street (junction with Hilltown) and North George Street (junction with Hilltown)

closed from Monday 27 March for 8 weeks for Scottish Water maintenance renewal works.  Strathmartine Road (Hill Street to Mains Road) and prohibition of left turn at Kinghorne Road for 2 weeks.

A90 Kingsway West (eastbound approach to Myrekirk roundabout)

overnight (7.30pm – 6.30am) – eastbound alternate lane closures on Monday 27 March for installation of traffic loops.

Brown Street (Guthrie Street for 35m south)

closed southbound from Monday 3 April for 5 working days for Scottish Water mains repair works.

Claypotts Road

– closed southbound between Ballinard Road and Camperdown Street then full closure between Strathern Road and Duntrune Terrace.  Gas main renewal.  Starting Monday 3 April for 12 weeks.

Eliza Street (Dura Street to Catherine Street)

closed from Tuesday 4 April for 2 days for BT cable repair works.  Temporary traffic lights on Dura Street also.

Crichton Street/Whitehall Crescent/Whitehall Street/Dock Street, High Street east of Whitehall Street and Commercial Street (10m north of Dock Street to Seagate)

road closure from Sunday 9 April for 2 weeks for carriageway surfacing works.

Macnabb Street and Macnabb Place

closed from Wednesday 19 April for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
