AIMS: The aim of the band is the advancement of the education of the general public in brass band music by:
(i) the provision of an appropriate administrative structure, instruments and music (ii) the appointment of a conductor (iii) the provision of training in brass banding.
In order to achieve this general charitable aim the band will meet the following objectives:-
(i) meet at least once each week to develop skills and to rehearse (ii) perform the brass band repertoire at public galas, concerts and other community events, and (iii) compete in local and national brass band contests.
OTHER INFO: The band is the city's oldest surviving brass band, with a history dating back more than 100 years. Originally known as St Margaret's (old), the name was changed in the early 1980s.
