The minute of meeting of this Committee of 26th March, 2018 was held as read.

I DECLARATION OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest.
II DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (SUMMERFIELD TERRACE, DUNDEE) (STOPPING-UP) ORDER 2018
There was submitted Agenda Note AN26-2018 where reference was made to Article V of the minute of meeting of the City Development Committee of 25th September, 2017, wherein it was agreed to stop-up areas of roads, footpaths and footways at Summerfield Terrace, Dundee.
The Order was duly prepared and advertised in the Evening Telegraph and The Edinburgh Gazette, and the relevant statutory undertakers were consulted. No objections were received.
The Committee agreed to authorise and confirm the Stopping-Up Order, and authorised formal publication of the confirmation, after which the Order would become operative.
III DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (CONVERSION OF ROADS TO FOOTWAYS) (LUNDIE AVENUE, DUNDEE) ORDER 2018
There was submitted Agenda Note AN27-2018 where reference was made to Article III of the minute of meeting of the City Development Committee of 25th September, 2017, wherein it was agreed to promote road safety by removing an access onto King's Cross Road situated too close to an adjacent access (north leg of Lundie Avenue) which would soon have large flows of traffic caused by adjacent business developments.
The Order was duly prepared and advertised in the Evening Telegraph and The Edinburgh Gazette, and the relevant statutory undertakers were consulted. No objections were received.
The Committee agreed to authorise and confirm the Stopping-Up Order, and authorise formal publication of the confirmation, after which the Order would become operative.
IV TENDERS RECEIVED BY HEAD OF DESIGN AND PROPERTY
There was submitted Report No 129-2018 by the Head of Design and Property detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon:-
(i) FRIARFIELD HOUSE - BOILER REPLACEMENT
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 187,472.21, to which required to be added allowances of 29,920.61, making a total expenditure of 217,392.82.
(ii) ROCKWELL LEARNING CENTRE - IMPROVEMENTS AND UPGRADE PHASE 2
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 158,462.29, to which required to be added allowances of 25,337.04, making a total expenditure of 183,799.33.
(iii) CLEPINGTON PRIMARY SCHOOL - ROOF REFURBISHMENT
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 143,960.37, to which required to be added allowances of 23,245.74, making a total expenditure of 167,206.11.
(iv) CRAIGIE HIGH SCHOOL - UPGRADE OF HOME ECONOMICS CLASSROOM
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 136,277.33, to which required to be added allowances of 33,931.82, making a total expenditure of 170,209.15.
(v) CRAIGIEBARNS PRIMARY SCHOOL - TOILET UPGRADE
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 156,327.17, to which required to be added allowances of 24,999.69, making a total expenditure of 181,326.86.
(vi) WEST AREA HOUSING OFFICE - ALTERATIONS TO FORM SAFETY AND ALARM CENTRE
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 155,428.40, to which required to be added allowances of 39,557.69, making a total expenditure of 194,986.09.
(vii) FORTHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - REPLACE WINDOWS AND DOOR SCREENS - PHASE 4
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 326,453.18, to which required to be added allowances of 57,579.60, making a total expenditure of 384,032.78.
(viii) EASTERN PRIMARY SCHOOL - REPLACEMENT OF NEW FIRE DOORS AND NEW LENEL SWIPE CARD ENTRY SYSTEM
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 47,854.23, to which required to be added allowances of 8,060.97, making a total expenditure of 55,915.20.
(ix) OLYMPIA POOL HALL ELECTRICAL SERVICES IMPROVEMENTS
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from E W Edwardsons (Electrical Contractor Ltd) in the sum of 185,704.82, to which required to be added allowances of 24,000, making a total expenditure of 209,704.82.
(x) DUNDEE DOCK CYCLE ROUTE IMPROVEMENTS
The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Jones Bros Ruthin (Civil Engineering) Co Ltd in the sum of 290,249.13, to which required to be added allowances of 66,523, making a total expenditure of 356,772.13.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
