I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

No declarations of interest were made.

 

II CONTROL OF DOGS IN PARK, CEMETERIES AND OPEN SPACES

 

There was submitted Report No 169-2015 by the Director of Environment advising the Committee on progress with encouraging responsible dog ownership and seeking approval for establishing an accreditation scheme for professional dog walkers and the installation of two dog exercising trails.

 

The Committee agreed to note the content of the report and further agreed that the Director of Environment be remitted to establish an accreditation scheme for professional dog walkers and the creation of two dog exercising trails.

 

III THE SUPPLY AND ERECTION OF SECURITY FENCING AT CITY ROAD ALLOTMENTS

 

There was submitted Report No 339-2015 by the Director of Environment seeking approval for the erection of security fencing to protect the allotments at City Road.

 

The Committee agreed the proposed improvements and instructed the Director of Environment to undertake these works.

 

IV TENDERS RECEIVED BY CITY ENGINEER

 

There was submitted Report No 326-2015 by the City Engineer detailing tenders received for the undernoted projects:-

 

(a) SOUTH ROAD PLAY AREA CIVIL AND LANDSCAPE WORKS

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from T & N Gilmartin (Contractors) Ltd in the sum of 63,527.49, to which required to be added allowances amounting to 55,867.51, giving a total of 119,395.

 

(b) SOUTH ROAD PLAY AREA - PURCHASE OF SPECIALIST PLAY EQUIPMENT

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Timberplay in the sum of 20,605.
