II CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982
(a) NEW VEHICLE
It was reported that a request had been received to consider Volkwagen's Caravelle Sedan as an approved vehicle for use as a taxi/private hire vehicle.
The Committee approved the request.
(b) VEHICLE EXAMINATION REPORT
There was circulated a copy of the proposed Vehicle Test Sheet from the Plant and Vehicle Officer for the Committee's information.
The Committee noted the layout.

In the case of Application No 1 by Audrey Blair in respect of AUJ House, 19 Nelson Street, the Committee was advised that major works were required and agreed that consideration of the application be deferred.
In the case of Application No 2 by Jane Gibson in respect of Atholl Bank Guest House, 19 Thomson Street, the Committee was advised that minor works were required and agreed that the application be granted conditional upon these minor works being carried out to the satisfaction of the authority.
In the case of Application No 3 by Rose Lodge (A Firm) in respect of 57 Seafield Road, the Committee was advised that minor works were required and agreed that the application be granted conditional upon these minor works being carried out to the satisfaction of the authority.
In the case of Applications Nos 4 to 18, the Committee agreed to defer consideration meantime.

In the case of Application No 38 by Martin Peter, the Committee noted that the applicant had failed to pass the street knowledge test within the required period and the application had been withdrawn.
There being no objections, the Committee granted the remaining applications.
(h) TAXI LICENCE - RENEWAL
There was submitted an application by Ms Alison Murphy, for renewal of her taxi licence.
The Committee gave consideration to reports by the Chief Constable and the Plant and Vehicle Officer relative to this application.
Thereafter, the Committee agreed that the application be granted and removed the condition that the car be tested at three monthly intervals.

In the case of Application No 1 by John Devenney, the Committee agreed to defer consideration of the application.
There being no objections, the Committee granted the remaining applications.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, that the public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the above Act.
III CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982
(a) LATE HOURS CATERING LICENCE - NEW APPLICATION
There was submitted an application by Mr SD for a late hours catering licence in respect of premises at 192 King Street, Broughty Ferry.
The Committee gave consideration to letters of objection from the Chief Constable and local residents.
After being advised that the applicant was not present, the Committee agreed that the application be refused.
(b) STREET TRADER'S LICENCE - NEW APPLICATION
There was submitted an application by Mr GID for a street trader's licence to deal in ice cream.
The Committee gave consideration to an objection which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relative to the application. Part of the representation referred to convictions which were spent in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and after hearing the Chief Constable's representative as to their age and nature, the Committee agreed that these be considered in the interests of justice.
Thereafter, having heard the applicant on his own behalf, the Committee agreed that the application be refused.
(c) TAXI DRIVER'S LICENCE - NEW APPLICATIONS
There was submitted an application by Mr SC for a taxi driver's licence.
The Committee gave consideration to an objection which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relative to this application. Part of the objection referred to convictions which were spent in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and after hearing the Chief Constable's representative as to their age and nature, the Committee agreed that these be considered in the interests of justice.
Thereafter, having considered a letter of explanation received from the applicant and being advised that the applicant was not present, the Committee agreed that the application be refused.
Councillor Grant declared an interest and took no part in discussion of the following item, her place being taken by Lord Provost Helen Wright for the duration of the item.
There was submitted an application by Mr RC for a taxi driver's licence.
The Committee gave consideration to a representation which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relative to this application. Part of the representation referred to convictions which were spent in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and after hearing the Chief Constable's representative as their age and nature, the Committee agreed that these be considered in the interests of justice.
Thereafter, having heard the applicant on his own behalf, the Committee agreed that the application be granted.

After being advised that the applicant was not present, the Committee agreed that the application be refused.

The Committee gave consideration to a representation which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relative to this application
