I ANNUAL REPORT 2004/2005 - DUNDEE COMMUNITY SAFETY WARDENS INITIATIVE

 

There was submitted Report No 550-2005 by the Head of Communities seeking approval of the annual Monitoring and Evaluation Report to the Scottish Executive on Year 1 of the Dundee Community Safety Wardens Initiative and asking the Committee to note the content and action plan arising from the consultants' external report.

 

The Committee approved the following recommendations:-

 

(a) to agree the 2004-2005 report on the monitoring and evaluation of the Dundee Community Safety Wardens Initiative as per the approved Scottish Executive format.

 

(b) to note the content and approve the proposed action plan arising from the report of the independent external consultants Blake Stevenson.

 

II DUNDEE COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP - ALLOCATION OF LOCAL ACTION FUND VI - 2005/2006

 

There was submitted Report No 452-2005 by the Head of Communities seeking approval for the allocation of further grant awards from the Local Action Fund. The grant awards totalling 31,556 could be met from external funding from the Scottish Executive under the Community Safety Local Action Fund Programme 2005/2006.

 

The Committee approved the allocation of three commissioned grant awards as follows:-

 

N2 Sport Project/Dance Alert - 7,450

Outdoor Education - 20,000

Football at Gussie Park, Education Project - 4,106

III EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY GRANT FUND 11 2005/2006

 

There was submitted Report No 547-2005 by the Head of Communities making a recommendation for a grant award from the Equality and Diversity Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's Revenue Budget 2005/2006.

 

The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 1,250 to the Scottish Islamic and Cultural Centre, Dundee - Radio Ramadan 2005.

 

IV NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS FUND V 2005/2006

 

There was submitted Report No 563-2005 by the Head of Communities making a recommendation for a grant award from the National Organisations Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's Revenue Budget 2005/2006.

 

The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 731 to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.

 

V NON-RECURRING REVENUE GRANTS FUND 111 2005/2006

 

Councillor Scott declared a non-financial interest in the following item being a member of the Craigiebank Association.

 

There was submitted Report No 548-2005 by the Head of Communities making a recommendation for a grant award from the Non-Recurring Revenue Grants Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's Revenue Budget 2005/2006.

 

The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 2,900 to the Craigiebank Association.

 

VI YOUTHLINK ANNUAL CONFERENCE DUNDEE 27TH OCTOBER 2005

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN379-2005 advising that the above conference would be held in the Caird Hall, Dundee on 27th October, 2005 on the theme "Engaging Young People - Promoting Positive Practice". The cost was 40 per delegate excluding travel and subsistence.

 

The Committee agreed that one member of the Administration, one member of the SNP Group and one member of the Conservative Group be authorised to attend the conference.
