I CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982

(a) ACCESSIBLE VEHICLES - ADDITION TO THE LIST

Prior to consideration of this item, the Convener highlighted that in all cases where a taxi licence had been granted that it was the responsibility of the licence holder to ensure that any prospective vehicle for purchase and use as a taxi should meet the requirements of the new policy in relation to accessible vehicles and that it be on the approved list of accessible vehicles held by the City Council prior to them purchasing or entering into any purchasing agreement.

On a reference to Article II(e) of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 4th December, 2003, it was reported that a Citroen Dispatch Voyager 2L HDI provided by Voyager Multipurpose Vehicles Ltd (VMV) had been assessed by the Plant and Vehicle Officer and the Cabs Enforcement Officer and that they considered it to be suitable for inclusion in the list of approved vehicles.

Following discussion, the Committee agreed:-

(i) that an inspection of the vehicle by the Committee would not be necessary; and

(ii) that the Citroen Dispatch Voyager 2L HDI manufactured by Voyager Multipurpose Vehicles Ltd (VMV) be included on the approved list of accessible vehicles.
