I REVENUE BUDGET 2004/2007
At the start of the meeting the Depute Chief Executive (Finance) intimated that on page 2 of the Review of Charges for Education the increase for school meal charges would take effect from 18th August 2004 and not 1st April 2004, therefore reducing the additional income for 2004/2005 to 34,000.
Bailie Borthwick declared a non-financial interest in respect of Social Work charges by virtue of his employment.
Reference was made to Article II of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 19th January 2004 and to Article I of the minute of meeting of the Education Committee of 12th February 2004
The Committee had before them the following:-
(i) Provisional Revenue Budget Volume 2004/2007 and Review of Charges 2004/05.
(ii) Report No 144-2004 by the Director of Finance.
The Committee gave consideration to the recommendations in Report No 144-2004 as far as its interest was concerned and
(i) noted the procedures for setting the 2004/05 Revenue Budget and Council Tax as previously agreed by the Special Policy & Resources Committee on 19th January 2004 and as set out in Appendix A to this report.
(ii) noted the contents of the Provisional 2004-2007 Revenue Budget Volume that had been issued previously.
(iii) approved for their respective interests, the budget adjustments detailed in Appendix B to this report and amended the Provisional 2004-2007 Revenue Budgets accordingly.
The Committee noted the undernoted amendments submitted by the SNP Group in respect of the 2004/05 Review of Charges and growth/savings in the 2004/05 Revenue Budget:-
